MTGOP’s Quiet Complicity in the Political Swamp

MTGOP Quiet Complicity in the Political Swamp – PDF

As I watch what is unfolding this legislative session, I see the failure of the MTGOP to properly vet and support “true” republican candidates for office. As Montana’s National Committeeman, I have attended many Republican National Committee (RNC) meetings where the very issues playing out in Montana right now, were being discussed.

What does a party do about wayward politicians who use the term “republican” to describe themselves, but in reality, their voting records and actions portray no resemblance to the principles and platform that comprise the essence of what it means to be a republican?

At the National RNC level I have proposed the idea of an agreement between the state GOP and the candidate wishing to run as a republican. The agreement would allow the candidate to use the “republican” brand/ trademark just as a franchisee does in order to use the retail name of the company they agree to represent.

Montana GOP Rebukes ‘Out of Line Nine’ for Undermining Republican Control

Montana GOP Rebukes Out of Line Nine – PDF

As the Montana Legislature crosses the halfway mark of its 69th Legislative session, the Montana Republican Party (MTGOP) is publicly “rebuking” nine Republican state senators, widely referred to by frustrated Republican legislators and angry Constituents as the “Out of Line Nine.” The GOP argues that these senators have frequently aligned with Democrats, effectively obstructing the Republican-controlled Legislature. The party asserts that Montana voters elected a strong Republican majority expecting governance that reflects their values and priorities.

Shift in Power: Republican Majority Undermined

Since the first day of the session, the MTGOP contends that these nine Republican senators have repeatedly partnered with the Democratic minority to overrule Republican leadership.

The party argues that their actions have resulted in a de facto 27-23 Democratic majority, undermining the will of Montana voters, effectively handing control to Democrat Pat Flowers (SD31), Minority Leader in the Senate.

Illicit Chinese Toxins Discovered at Somerset County Triad Cannabis Operation – PDF

Following the execution of a search warrant at 199 Middle Road in Fairfield, Maine related to an illegal cannabis growing operation, the Somerset County Sheriff ’s Department released images from the raid that show illegal Chinese-made fumigants—highly toxic chemicals not approved for any use in the United States.

According to a statement from the Somerset County Sheriff ’s Office, more than 700 illegal cannabis plants were present at the time of the search warrant execution—a small haul compared to the dozens of raids executed over the past year that have resulted in thousands of illegal marijuana plants being seized.

As previously reported exclusively by the Maine Wire, the Asian Transnational Criminal Organizations operating more than 270 black market marijuana sites throughout the state of Maine have sourced the toxic fumigants from compatriots in California.

How to Handle CPS, Strangers, or Law Enforcement, Knocking on Your Door – PDF

Before I explain your response to the above circumstance, let’s address your rights and what is very likely happening and the reason for my post today. I am in MT, but the rules are the same, for we all live under the same United States Constitution.

I just became aware of a situation that has happened here in MT. It actually made the Megan Kelly Show. I encourage you to watch it, it is the first 50 minutes of the show. It is the #714 (Jan 9, Kolstad) podcast of her show. FWIW, in MT, we are pretty much a staunch supporter of parental rights in regard to our kids. As you watch, keep in mind that you can be easily manipulated into surrendering those parental rights.

When your doorbell rings, what do you do?
Naturally, most open the door! This is a parents first mistake. If you do not have the ability to know who is on the other side of the door, don’t open it. Instead, while the door is still closed, through the door, ask who is there. If it is Child Protection Services (CPS), ask if they have a warrant. DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR unless they do have the warrant! If they do have a warrant, they will be accompanied by a law enforcement officer of some sort. If there is no warrant, DO NOT open the door!

Can Montana’s electric grid keep up as coal plants close and data centers open?

Montana Public Service Commissioner Randall Pinocci is advocating for a bold shift in the nation’s energy infrastructure. He has expressed interest in meeting with Energy Secretary Chris Wright to highlight the staggering financial losses— potentially in the trillions—caused by outdated steel core transmission lines. Pinocci is pushing for a nationwide mandate to replace all transmission and distribution lines with 100% carbon core conductors, citing their superior efficiency and safety. He also proposes outlawing steel core conductors entirely.

Pinocci’s vision extends beyond cost savings; he emphasizes the importance of protecting national treasures like Montana’s Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks from the risks associated with outdated technology. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to modernize energy systems and enhance grid resilience.

Montana’s electric grid faces significantchallenges as coal plants close and energy intensive data centers emerge. The closure of coal plants reduces the state’s traditional energy supply, while data centers demand substantial electricity to operate. For instance, two proposed data centers near Butte are expected to require up to 400 megawatts of electricity by 2030, enough to power nearly 320,000 homes annually.

Gallatin and Missoula County Republicans Censure Out of Line Nine as Pro-Life Group Supports Recall Effort

Grassroots Republicans are taking decisive steps, as county-level GOP organizations have moved against the nine Republican state senators previously rebuked by the state party for aligning with Democrats. The Gallatin County Republican Central Committee and the Missoula County Republican Central Committee have now issued formal censure resolutions against Sen. Shelley Vance (SD34) and Sen. Denley Loge (SD45), respectively.

Adding to the growing backlash, the prolife advocacy group Montanans For Life has expressed deep disappointment with the Montana GOP leadership for failing to take stronger action and has stated it would support a recall of the nine senators. From Rebuke to Censure: County- Level Backlash
In February 2025, the Montana Republican Party (MTGOP) issued a public rebuke against nine Republican state senators—referred to as the “Out of Line Nine”—for consistently voting with the Democratic minority and undermining the Republican-controlled Senate. While some GOP leaders felt the rebuke was sufficient, others within the party demanded harsher consequences.

MTGOP Executive Board member Brad Tschida was among those who pushed for a stronger response. During internal deliberations, Tschida supported a censure at the state level, arguing that a simple rebuke lacked meaningful consequences. However, the state party ultimately chose to issue only a rebuke rather than a formal censure. Tschida is also a member of the Missoula County Republican Central Committee, which has now.
